Account Creation
1. We prefer members to be 16 years or older. We welcome members under sixteen, but we expect everyone to act fairly maturely. No "LOL RANDOM XD". A sense of humor is great, but there is a line between funny and annoying.
2. Please create an out-of-character account when you sign up. You'll use this account to post in the out-of-character boards. If you accidentally post in an OOC board with a character account, that's fine, just be more careful in the future.
3. When creating character accounts, please format your username as [alias][characterprefix]. For example, if I wanted to create a character named Rainfur, I would make the username Oakleyrain, and then change my display name to Rainfur. This is to help people know who plays what characters and it keeps usernames free. If you wind up with two characters who share a prefix, just add "2" to the second one.
4. You may start with four characters. After your fourth character, each of your cats must have ten in-character posts before you can create another account. There is no character limit.
5. Characters are not restricted to heterosexuality. Characters are, however, restricted to being male or female. The characters in Warriors do not seem to have any cultural recognition of gender, and as such transgender and non-binary characters cannot exist. They recognize sex: Male cats inseminate and female cats give birth to and nurse kittens. Characters are not limited to duties based on gender--Sandstorm was never told she couldn't fight because she was a girl, no one ever held back a female character from being leader, and no one picked on any tom for wanting to be a medicine cat.
6. Defective characters can only be created through litters. This includes, but is not limited to, blind and deaf cats, and male tortoiseshells + calicoes.
7. Character applications are mostly fluid. A character must be accepted prior to being played, but applications remain unlocked for members to edit on the go. We ask that members do not change a character's fur or eye color, fur length, or other things that can't be influenced by roleplay. When you modify a character's application, please post on their app saying so (you needn't do this if you're polishing grammar/spelling--only post if you're changing something about the cat).
8. Cats must be fairly realistic in appearance. Pointed cats should have blue eyes. Cats whose coats are less than 50% white shouldn't have blue eyes, as it's incredibly rare. Cats cannot have red eyes or purple coats.
Out-of-Character
1. Swearing is fine, just use common sense and don't go overboard.
2. Don't spam the chat. You don't need to post 5+ messages in a row.
3. Don't bug people about posting. Saying "Hey X, I replied to our thread" is cool, but pestering and nagging someone to respond is not. Some people like to wind down in the chat for a while before they post. Please be considerate of other members.
4. Do not mini-mod. If a staff member is present, they can answer questions just fine. Often members will try to help by answering a question, and they end up giving the wrong answer, leaving the staff to correct them. This can easily cause confusion. If someone breaks a rule and there are no staff members around, please take a screenshot and PM it to a staff member.
5. If you are going to be inactive for a long period of time, please try to let us know. There will be monthly activity checks. If you miss one activity check, your accounts will be marked inactive until you return. If you miss three activity checks in a row without notifying us of your absence, your accounts will be deleted and your characters will be considered missing or, in the case of cats adopted from other players for plots, re-adopted. Original characters will never be re-adopted. Kittens born in litters are considered original characters, regardless of whether or not their family had a plot that included them. If you let us know you'll be away, your accounts will be kept inactive for up to one year.
6. There is no universal aging system. You can age your characters however you please.
7. You may only have one pending application at a time. Please wait until your current application is accepted before posting a new one.
8. Discussions regarding who wants what kit from what litter are prohibited. They put pressure on the parents' players and can easily exclude others.
Roleplay
1. Power-play (playing someone else's character without permission; physically or mentally affecting another player's character without giving them a chance to respond) and god-mode (playing a character as invincible or all-knowing) are prohibited. If you received permission to power-play a character, please make a note of it somewhere in the post.
2. Characters cannot be suicidal, nor can they self-harm (unless it is to get out of a fatal situation).
3. While two cats don't have to be mates to have kittens, both must consent to the conception. "Oopsy" litters are fine, rape-conceived litters are not. More rules regarding litters can be found here.
4. Roleplay posts should be at least 50 words. Posts should be written in third person past tense.
5. Clan leaders choose apprentices' warrior suffixes when they have their ceremony. You may PM the leader's roleplayer asking for a specific suffix, but you are not guaranteed to receive it.
6. Incest is not allowed. This includes romantic love between adopted siblings.
7. RP threads should be labeled either "Open" or "Private" in the title. You're free to designate rules specific to your threads, such as higher word counts.
8. We use liquid time. Your characters can be in multiple threads at the same time.
Other Rules
1. Do not change the text color in any of your posts. If you have a posting table that would require a change of text color, don't use it.
2. Do not make text size smaller or use tiny fonts in your posts.
3. Advertisements should be placed in the appropriate board. Please do not discuss other roleplay forums, even if they've been inactive for several years, in the chat or anywhere else on the forum. It can lead to gossip and shit-talking, neither of which are acceptable here.
