To those who play warrior characters, please keep in mind that all warriors are considered eligible to mentor, and if an apprentice in a Clan does not state preference for a particular mentor, your character may be chosen to mentor them. If you do not want an apprentice for your character for whatever reason, please state so in your signature and your character's leader will not select your cat to mentor any apprentices.
Kit > Apprentice
In order for your kit to become an apprentice, they must participate in one roleplay thread. The thread does not have to be complete, but it should have at least three posts total.
Apprentice > Warrior
For ThunderClan, RiverClan, ShadowClan, and WindClan Moor Runners, the requirements are the same:
1 battle training thread
1 hunting training thread
1 border patrol or territory exploration thread
Training threads do not have to be completed with the apprentice's assigned mentor, but a warrior must be present in every training thread for it to count.
WindClan Tunnelers must have the above threads and an additional 2 tunnel training threads. Tunnelers were uncommon, and thus must be trained in-character. Click here to read more.
Medicine Cat Apprentice > Full Medicine Cat
Medicine cat apprentices can receive their full name and title without their mentor dying or retiring. In order to achieve this, a medicine cat apprentice must complete the following:
1 hunting thread
1 herb knowledge thread
1 general healing knowledge thread
Warrior > Elder
If a warrior manages to live 72 moons, they must retire to the elders' den. Elders rarely live past 84 moons, but it's possible for elders to reach this age.
If a warrior is severely injured and cannot continue their duties, they must retire to the elders' den.
Kittens born with disabilities such as blindness or deafness may be sent to live in the elders' den, but they are generally expected to help the Clan in one way or another--some spend their time cleaning or helping the medicine cats collect herbs.
