Halfpaw finally made it to the place she was told about while she was kit, with a tone of sadness did her mother explain how gatherings worked. Her green eyes looked up, and she went instantly dizzy as she padded towards the 'Great Rock' with her head upwards. The trees went on forever and ever! Could they possibly touch the stars? She bounded up the large stone and looked around with wonder, Fourtrees was beautiful at night. The full moon silvered the towering oaks and bathed the grass and rock in its light, Halfpaw purred at the sight and sat down on the Great Rock to take it all in. The full moon. she thought. When would she witness a peace gathering between the clans? Until the clans recovered of course, ShadowClan didn't even have a leader to take them here...
The she-cat sighed and closed her eyes as she sat motionless on the jagged stone, relaxing as she imagined cats all around with the leaders celebrating nothing but good news while every clan cheered.

Ravenheart had been padding along the border. He was checking scent markers and putting more where they were needed. Then he smelled something peculiar. Shadowclan scent headed towards the Fourtrees. He started padding the way, carefully crossing the Thunderpath as he did so. He quickly got to Fourtrees, slightly out of breath. Internally he was curious, why would a cat from Shadowclan come here.
Ravenheart padded up to the clearing, seeing the small-ish cat. He recognized her, it was Halfpaw. He sighed, and padded closer to where she might actually be able to see him. "Halfpaw. What are you doing so far from camp?" He'd say this monotonously as always. He wasn't one for emotion, and he certainly wouldn't waste any emotion he did have on this. He'd flick his ears in annoyance, he understood that apprentices were curious but crossing the Thunderpath and coming out here without telling anyone wasn't too great in his book.

It was only a few moments did Halfpaw enjoy her personal escape in her imagination, then a voice suddenly spoke and it all shattered in much less than seconds. Her ears perked, eyes shot open and she let out a squeak of alarm. She was close to bounding off the rock and sprinting back to camp, but she just froze, still in the same position. It took her longer than it should have to scent another ShadowClanner, and even longer to realize who the cat was. There was no mistaking it, the appearance and the strangely monotone voice. "Ravenheart!" She meowed louder than she should have absentmindedly. "Um, well..." She thought about what to respond with. "I wanted to see Fourtrees, after all, it belongs to all the clans. We're supposed to be here on this very night every moon in peace! Isn't that amazing?" Halfpaw stood up and leapt off the stone. Halfpaw didn't plan on leaving soon, not at all. She was determined to stay as long as StarClan allowed her to before they personally wanted to kick her out (which she doubted).

He'd flick the tip of his tail, the apprentice was up where the leaders would've sat. He almost laughed at her late response, he supposed that happened the everyone once or twice. He blinked at the cat, padding closer. "Indeed. The clans would gather here during the full-moon. It was quite amazing that the clans could come together without fighting for a night. I suppose Starclan still wants all the clans together, I see no clouds over the moon tonight." Ravenheart felt a tinge of pity in his emotionless heart, this apprentice had never gotten to see a gathering. That should be changed soon. Once all the clans have gotten leaders, they can lead their clans to Fourtrees once more.

Halfpaw gave a pleased smile at Ravenheart's response, he didn't demand for her to come back and go to sleep like she expected of any warrior. Halfpaw tilted her head as he mentioned the sky's cloudless night. She looked up and nodded, she hadn't exactly noticed that much of the weather, and was happy of the clearness. Perhaps he was right? It could've been a sign of StarClan welcoming peace amongst the oaks. Cue the overthinking... "Does StarClan have that much power over the clouds? Or the sky itself?" She said suddenly, not thinking too much really. Halfpaw sat down with her tail straight out behind her. "If they're strong enough to control the weather, why did they let us almost become destroyed?" She meowed again. Her words weren't meant to be an attack on her ancestors, just questions she always had. Maybe I'm asking the wrong cat. But Halfpaw didn't correct herself or take back her sentence, she wanted to know what he thought.

He'd blink at her question, never really having wondered that about his ancestors. "I believe.." he trailed off a tad, he didn't want to say anything rash to the apprentice. "I believe that Starclan did this to allow us to start anew. To begin again almost. Perhaps to allow us to evaluate our ways as clans." He looked again at the clear sky, the full moon glowing brightly in the sky. Someday the clans would gather here again. Perhaps today was just the beginning. "Halfpaw, lets go back to camp." He'd flick his tail for the apprentice to follow, the new generation needed their sleep anyway.

Her green eyes widened, her fur bristled and ears pointed acutely. What? she completely ignored his beckoning and still sat there, surprised of his answer. "You think StarClan sacrificed so many cats' lives because they wanted to start over?" She was outraged, not at Ravenheart, but at StarClan. That's it? Really? Did they mess up that bad that they felt the need to inflict so much pain and suffering to teach us a lesson? But then, she began to think more. "Were we that screwed up? That our ancestors were so disappointed us that they sent a plague? Or at least just let it happen?" Her gaze dropped to her paws and her ears flattened on her skull.
