Brookpaw is a competitive young lass. She is constantly trying to win her mother's attention and affection, but her mom's hard-to-impressive nature means she fails time and time again. Her sister Minnowpaw looks more like their mother, and thus tends to get unwanted attention from her.
Their mother, unnamed, is the daughter of the late Graystar. She had one sister who died when they were 31 moons old. She is now 37 moons old. She is a long-haired classic gray tabby with golden eyes. Personality-wise, she is spoiled, manipulative, moody, hard to impress, extremely intelligent, focused, and confident. She is a natural leader and she knows exactly how to get others to hang on her every word, to leave them wanting more all while never giving it to them. She loves attention but she hardly reacts the way anyone expects, which feeds into her little game. She uses Minnowpaw to make Brookpaw jealous so she can get attention from her obnoxious daughter without having to give it back. She is aware that both of her daughters wish that she'd ignore Minnowpaw instead, but she likes toying with their emotions this way.

The only area in which she is not competitive with Brookpaw (or anyone else, for that matter) is over her mother. She hates her mother, and she knows her mother is aware of this, but she figures that saying it will only make things worse for her (and she's probably right). Minnowpaw is easygoing and likes to have fun--she's been called lazy a few times, but if one is willing to make a game or competition out of the task, Minnowpaw will go all in. Minnowpaw has a hard time saying 'no' to others, and often finds herself wrapped up in one of her sister's crazy plans.
